Manchester United favourites to sign Scotland ace -Alan Hutton

Alan Hutton

Alan Hutton May Join Manchester United

Spurs are set to make an approach for Scotland and Rangers full back Alan Hutton in the January transfer window according to reports in The Express today. However, earlier in the month the News of the World reported that Rangers would accept bids of £8 million pounds from Hutton's list of admirers including; Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Man United.Hutton made his name predominantly from Scotland's unsuccessful Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, especially in the Tartan army's clash against world champions Italy. The game saw Hutton put in a heroic performance defensively as well as displaying his attack minded full back role.It is no surprise that there is a list of clubs waiting to snatch him up even with his £8 million price tag. In my opinion, Man United are favourites to sign him.

Sir Alex Ferguson quoted:

"Hutton was exceptional," he said. "He has come from nowhere and looks as though he will become a superstar once he gets that little extra bit of experience." Italy's match-winner, Christian Panucci, a Champions League winner with Real Madrid and Milan, has no doubt that the 22-year-old would not look out of place in Serie A if he became the first Scot to move there since Graeme Souness in 1984.

"Hutton is a very good player," said Panucci. "He is very quick and has two good feet. He produced a lot of good play against us in the game. He looks like a player with a good mentality, too, and I have no doubts he could play in Italy."

A development, which signifies a first for the global automobile industry, the People’s Car brings the comfort and safety of a car within the reach of thousands of families. The People’s Car will be launched in India later in 2008.

Specifications of Tata Nano

Tata Nano specifications

  • Nearest Domestic Car Rival: Maruti 800, part of Japanese-owned Suzuki Maruti stable whose base model sells for about 4,800 dollars -- nearly double the price of the Nano. • Sales: Tata will focus on selling the car in India for the next two to three years, before eyeing Latin American and Southeast Asian markets.

Tata Nano's Cost Price

It is priced at around 1 lakh Rs plus 26,000 Rs. As Tatas believe it was not possible to achieve 1,00,000 Rs.(Rupees) round figure. For Foriegn export, it will cost around $2500-$3200 (1,26,000 Rupees).

Tata Nano's Drawbacks Disadvantages - Safety Compromised

Foreign market may have welcomed this new cheap export car from India. People may use it inside the city for its small size it could be parked anywhere!! But this nice package comes with its little set of drawbacks. Guess people can spend that small amount of 1 Lac Rs. for which tatas may not get huge margins guess 10,000 Rs. per unit sold! People spending 1,26,000 Rs. can spend little bit more to get more stable and successful model of Maruti Suzuki 800 priced at 1,90,000 Rs.(Non-A.C. model)

Following are Drawbacks of Tata Nano:

  • No Hand Brake.
  • Engine at the rear. So no protection at the front in case of accident.
  • Top speed - 90 Kmph (Kilometer per hour). Thats why it would be just a city car more or less, no long drives! Pity!!. So, it would not be popular among youth who need speed which they get in Bikes.
  • Made up of low grade metal - Aluminium
  • Mileage: 20 Kmpl in spite of being light weight
  • Low Quality interiors - Seat cover are made up of leather.
  • No spare Tire.
  • Small sized Dashboard which can't safeguard against collision from front.
  • Low Priced gearbox from Kinetic Scooter Company.
  • Very ugly interiors.
  • Seats uncomfortable much like a Three-Wheeler.
  • Emission norms not followed properly.
  • Not powerful, Slow Pickup (0-20 Kmph).
  • Tires without Tubes.
  • Little Advantage in Hot Places: It has an AC (Air Conditioner) I guess!!
